Being weightless while pregnant

Women who exercise in water through pregnancy report noticeably less physical discomfort, better mobility and a better body image than those who train on land. Most of that is buoyancy: the water carries the weight.

The workout is built from shallow-water exercises and covers the whole body. And it happens indoors, which through a Florida summer is the difference between a workout you keep doing and one you talk yourself out of.

In short
  • Shallow-water prenatal workouts, whole body
  • Indoor pool, held at 90°F all year
  • Low impact on joints and back
  • Arranged by request around your week
What you get

What comes with every session

The water takes the weight

Buoyancy removes most of the load from the back, hips and knees, so the muscles work while the joints get a break.

Resistance in every direction

Water pushes back whichever way you move, which is what makes a low-impact session still a real one: mobility, endurance and tone together.

Indoors, out of the heat

Through the hot months an indoor pool beats a crowded, warm studio. The water is UV-purified and held at 90°F every day of the year.

Talk to your doctor first

Bring whatever guidance your physician has given you, and we build the session around it.

Common questions

What people ask before they book

Is swimming safe during pregnancy?

For most pregnancies, yes: the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists lists swimming and water workouts among the exercises that are safe while pregnant. Every pregnancy is its own, so check with your doctor first and bring the guidance they give you. We build the session around it.

Do I need to know how to swim for a prenatal class?

The workout is built from shallow-water exercises, in water you can stand up in, so it suits a strong swimmer and a woman who rarely swims alike.

What comes after the baby is born?

Mommy & Me, in the same pool. Babies start from 3 months old with a parent in the water, and the first level, Sea Cubs, is built on songs, supported floating and calm repetition.

How do I book a prenatal session?

Prenatal sessions are arranged by request, around your week, so a call is the way in. Tell us how far along you are and what your doctor has said, and we set a time that suits you.
