Common questions

What people ask before they book

My child can swim. What should they work on next?

Technique and distance. Sea Otters is an intermediate swim class in Hallandale Beach that refines freestyle and backstroke, adds a coordinated dolphin kick and builds the stamina to hold good form for longer. Classes run 30 minutes with up to 4 swimmers per coach, at $132 a month.

Sea Otters or Guppies?

Both work on the same strokes. Sea Otters brings longer distances and more technical detail for older swimmers; Guppies keeps distances shorter for younger ones. Placement follows demonstrated skills as well as age, the coach confirms the level after watching your child swim, and both levels lead to Vaquitas.

How do I know my child is ready for Sea Otters?

They already show basic body position, kicking and breathing, the foundations Ducklings builds. The coach confirms the level after watching them swim and checks technique and distance on the first day. A swimmer still building those basics starts in Ducklings, which leads straight into Sea Otters.

What comes after Sea Otters?

Vaquitas, where strokes are swum legally and breaststroke begins. Swimmers move up when they meet the coach’s technique and distance standards for freestyle and backstroke and show a coordinated dolphin kick. Vaquitas classes run longer, to leave room for the distance and endurance work of the advanced levels.
